I had another appointment with my gyno today. It was a follow up from my blood work and to see my last temp chart. He said that my chart looked great, all most textbook for a normal cycle. But my progesterone level was a little low. He said that he likes to see it at 15 to show ovulation, mine was 11. So although my body did the ovulation cycle, I most likely did not release an egg. Which means there was no chance of us getting pregnant on our own that cycle. So he wants me to take the clomid for a month, have my levels checked while taking it and see if they went up. If they do then I would be ovulating! If not then I may need to take a progesterone supplement as well.
I was upset to hear that after all this time 1 blood test could have showed him what was wrong. Instead I wasted so much time taking my temps, having ultrasounds, and every other blood test done. Why we didn't do a day 21 level the first month is beyond me. It's very frustrating! And even now so much more since we have to wait until after my surgery then recovery before we can even take the next step. But I have my script for Clomid in my hand and as soon as I'm done recovering I'll begin taking it.
So I just have to remember: It is what it is, just as I stated in this post. I can't change anything, god has already written my life story.
I just hope it has a happy ending.
