Speeding? Me? Noooo.

Last night I was on my way home from work, minding my own business when all of a sudden I got pulled over.

Yup, doing 75 in a 55. ouch

To be fair the speed limit was 70 until about 300 feet from where I got stopped, I guess your expected to slam on your brakes the minute you see the speed limit drop. Also I was trying to pass someone, hence I was doing 5 over. And if I needed to do 5 over to try and pass her then that meant she must have been doing 70 or close to as well. I also like how he got behind me and followed me for another 600 feet or so before pulling me over. Almost like he knew he needed to get a little farther from the limit sign.

But I was lucky and he only wrote me for 60 in a 55, so only 5 over. But he did write on the ticket that I was doing 75 and that I stated I was trying to pass someone that was swerving. Which she was, in fact she cut into my lane and the person in front of me had to slam on their brakes cause she almost took out her front end.

But did the cop see that? no

So there goes $100 that I really didn't have. But I guess it's better than the $150 the 20 over would have cost. Also it may be 2 points on my license if they don't consider it an expressway, if they do then no points for me. YAY!

So, remember not to speed. It is dangerous and better yet can cost you a lot of money.

Bummer. I know the feeling. My hubs got a seat belt violation a few weeks ago. He'd just made a stop and forgot to buckle back up. They only ever look your way when you're doing something wrong. Do they look when you're going fifty-five? No! How about when you parallel park perfectly? No! What about when you actually stop when the light is yellow? No!
Sorry about your ticket!
