Once one decides to enter the Trying to Conceive cycle they begin living life 2 weeks at a time.
It starts with cycle day 1. At this time you know you aren't pregnant as the witch is in town. This is sometimes a very emotional time if you have been living the TTC life for a while. Or if you are just beginning you are excited that day 1 is here and now you can begin, for you know that in 2 weeks you will be ovulating. While some take this time to have a few drinks or eat foods that are "forbidden" since they know they aren't with child, others begin treating their body like a temple and prepare it for pregnancy since day 1 of your cycle is also considered day 1 of pregnancy.
At the end of this 2 weeks you ovulate. Which begins the dreaded 2 week wait. This is the hardest of all 2 weeks. For every flutter, burp, pain, itch, or bout of nausea could be a sign that you created life. Many woman go crazy during this 2 weeks. Often times becoming POAS* addicts. Many fight the urge, only to break down and test the day before the witch is due to arrive instead of waiting until you are late. Some will even test numerous times before that day, just because they can't help themselves.
*pee on a stick - taking a home pregnancy test
Sometimes the witch will play games with you, and delay her arrival. Making you oh so sure that all those tests you took were wrong, so you continue to take more and more. It's a good thing they sell these things at the dollar store now.
At the end of this 2 weeks you either get a positive pregnancy test and get to move on to the 1 week life cycle known as pregnancy or you start over and begin another 2 weeks.
Me, well I've been living the 2 week life for so long now I don't know how I'll react to living life 1 week at a time. I have learned to control myself and not take a pregnancy test before the witches arrival. But she always arrives on time anyways, she doesn't even give me a chance to get my hopes up. I'll probably be so in shock that she's late I'll think I miss counted my days.
How do/did you survive the 2 week wait? Were you a POAS addict?

Yes, I totally was. We should have taken out stock on pregnancy tests. I can't tell you the times I googled for a homemade pregnancy test, but never found anything. I was just so sick of the excitement of buying them and then the let down of "failing" them.
(Raises hand!) I definitely was, but won't be again as we are done. But I love cheering others along! I used to frequent a forum dedicated to the TWW! Hang in there!
It's funny, my first three came so fast and in quick succession I thought all my hubby had to do was look at me, BC or not, I was pregnant. I am trying really hard not to get sucked into looking at dates and times of the month... its been 7 months of waiting, I can only imagine how hard it has been for you with months upon months of waiting for your little blessing.
Yes! I read TCOYF when I wanted to conceive my second child and thought about nothing but cervical mucus, temperatures, charting, and peeing on a stick for months!
Just came over from the Blogstar community to check out your new domain name. I've been holding off, but I'm thinking I'm going to take the plunge as well. I told my hubby when I have 50 followers I will do it.
Anyways, I wanted to comment on this post, because I am a terrible POAS addict. This pregnancy I pee'd on 8...yes 8... once per day, all lined up so that I could see the exact moment when a faint line appeared and then carefully watch to be sure that they are getting darker.
I'm awful!
