He is getting so big! He was 24.5 inches long, which is in the 95th percentile! But only 12.2 lbs which is in the 43rd percentile. Tall and skinny!
He had to get his shots at this appointment. I was undecided on what shots to get him and what schedule to follow. I work in health care so I know it's important to protect him from certain illnesses, but I didn't like the idea of putting so many chemicals in his little body.
In the end I decided to follow the recommended schedule and decline any optional shots. I will look at those on an individual basis and decide if he needs those or not.
He did really well with the shots and only screamed for a minute. Once I grabbed him up and cuddled him he calmed right down. He then slept for 5 hrs and woke up screaming. His poor little legs were killing him. I had given him tylenol right before his appointment, but because he slept for so long it had wore off. He also had a knot where he had gotten one of his shots. But after an hour of crying, more tylenol and an ice pack to the leg and he calmed down and went back to sleep.
It was the worst hour of my life.
He was crying real tears and so was I.
Next time I will be sure to wake him for his dose of tylenol right at 4hrs.
