Ever since I had little man I have been on and off the weight loss train. While I was pregnant I lost 40 lbs, since having him I have lost another 20lbs. But still have quite a ways to go. The past couple of months I have been yo-yoing about 10lbs. I get going down, and then head right back up. I am pretty sick of it, and know if I could just break this 10lb barrier I could move a few more pounds.
I have a Fitbit to keep track of my steps, but was only getting 5,000-6,000 steps a day if I didn't actively try for the 10,000 goal I have set. So I broke down and bought a Treadmill. It was quite the investment, but I needed to do something to push me a bit harder. Yesterday I did a 20 min walk/run on it before work, which resulted in me getting my 10,000 steps done around noon. It really helped with the motivation to meet my goal.
I also use MyFitnessPal to keep track of my calories in and out. It's nice because it connects to my Fitbit and subtracts my workout calories burned from my intake. It also keeps me accountable for everything I put into my mouth. If I don't track it, I am only cheating myself.
Another thing I have going on is a couple weight loss groups on facebook. It helps having someone to talk me down when I'm thinking of jumping into a big piece of cake or chocolate chip cookie. And seeing what everyone else is doing to help them lose weight is a bonus. I have gained some really great ideas, and not so great ones as well.
So what about you...are you on the weight loss train? If so, what are you doing to help you achieve your goal?

I had been tracking my calories on my fit bit. Should I use my fitness pal instead?
Jess When I first started tracking I found that MFP had more food options in their database, especially with restaurants. But Fitbit was still new then, so that may have changed now as it has grown. Another reason I still use both is I have added several recipes to MFP, so didn't want to have to create them all again. But the apps do connect, so anything I put in MFP crosses to Fitbit. I also like that on MFP you can see, and cheer on, friends for staying under their goal or losing weight. It has more of a community base than Fitbit. My mom uses Fitbit for everything and she says it suits her fine, so it's really just a personal preference.
