Wordless Wednesday

a few quick shots.

A few shots from yesterday's shoot. I've been playing with a few actions from Rita, and some are nive and easy to use and produce great end results. Some look a little over photoshopped to me. But I like them, makes editing much easier and quicker. I'm sure I'll continue to use them on the other pictures.

So what do you think?

A little teaser.....

On Friday I had a quick photo session with The Carnell Clan. It may have lasted longer but when you put 5 kids in 90 degree heat the attitudes don't last long, and neither does the photographer, lol. But we did manage to get a few good shots. And here's a little teaser, what do you think?

**Edit** So after thinking about it some I decided that I'm not going to use Honey Bee Photography. There is already 3 websites with that name and I do want to be unique. So I'm just going to go with Melissa Bushey Photography, simple.

Also I just submitted a bid to the parks and recreation's here to be able to take the photos of the sports teams. Wish me luck!

So what do you think of my new logo? I signed up with a professional print lab and needed a business name, well what's better than Honey Bee....It is what Melissa means in Greek. So there you have it Honey Bee Photography. I'm in the process of creating a website and getting everything situated. So far the only thing I have available for you to check out is my gallery, which only contains a few pictures of my sister. But that is still a work in progress, and after my session with The Carnell Clan this week I'm sure I'll have tons of pictures to post. I mean with 5 kids to take pictures of I'll probably have pictures coming out of my ears. But it's going to be fun and I can't wait, I just hope the weather cooperates.

Here are a few of the other shots we took Friday night. I didn't edit a few of them, so some are straight off the camera (SOOC) and not edited. I'm sure I could make them look better if I did some editing, but I don't feel like it right now. So you get partially edited pictures....enjoy.

I wish I was better, but I think I'm getting there. Some day I may be good enough to take pictures as a side job, well I hope I will be anyways. I'd hate to charge people for mediocre pictures. As there are quite a few photographers out there that think they are good and do that. I never could though, if they aren't of high quality I would never charge someone. Hence doing my sister's senior pics for free.

Photography

I Love photography. But I'm very much an amature. I currently own a Canon A550 but am saving for a new Canon Digital Rebel xsi. Until then I just play around with the little camera I have. I recently discovered Alphatography, it's really neat. You take pictures of things that represent letters of the alphabet. I'm working on one for my father in law, and one for James and I. I'm really slacking on my picture taking. I've only gotten 2 done so far, but I hope to finish it up in the next couple of weeks. These are before editing and will look better when edited, matted and framed. I still have to find, or have made a special frame with 6 slots for the pictures. I have cropped these just to show the letter, but will crop more. Also they will be in Black and White.
